Compiling Oklahoma law significantly impacting the lives of Oklahoma women and girls

In the fall of 2005, the Women's Foundation of Oklahoma provided a grant to Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc. to undertake "a complete inventory of all resources available to girls and women in Oklahoma who become involved with the civil and/or criminal justice system."

They will also prepare "a summary of all Oklahoma law affecting women in the vital areas if education; employment; domestic relations; domestic violence; probate and estates; insurance; criminal justice; government benefits; consumer protection and housing."

Legal Aid Services is convening interested parties, working with law schools, producing a final report and making recommendations "to further gender equity in Oklahama."

On March 29, 2006, the first "Stakeholders Meeting" was held to bring together intereted organizations and individuals. Brief minutes of that meeting are available for review.
