  • WOMEN IN ELECTIVE OFFICE:
    In 2006, Oklahoma elected the second woman ever to represent the state in the US Congress; US Congresswoman Mary Fallin represents District 5. In the Oklahoma Legislature, women represent 12.75% of the total body. There are 12 women (9 Republicans and 3 Democrats) in the House of Representatives or 11.9% of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Another 7 women serve in the Oklahoma State Senate (1 Republican and 6 Democrats) for 14.6% of the Senate. View women in elective office.
